Capture the Passion
Metronome Dance Collective proudly presents Portuguese National Latin Champions Nuno Moreira and Rachel Makow in their first ever US appearance in the dazzling "Capture the Passion" Latin show.
Originally from San Francisco, Rachel moved to Europe to form a partnership with Nuno in October 2010, representing the country of Portugal. In their first competition at the World, they placed in the top 12 in the Under 21 Category. They were crowned National Champions soon after. Together, not only Rachel and Nuno have formed a successful partnership, they also developed one of the most profound friendships.
In November of 2011, however, it became apparent to both of them that they could no longer support their dancing with the worsening economic situation in Portugal. At the beginning of 2012, Rachel moved to the Czech Republic to dance with someone else. However, a few injuries forced her to come back to the US for recovery during the summer.
Now Nuno and Rachel are dedicated to making their partnership work again and to thrive in the best environment possible. They want to dance here in the Bay Area and represent the United States. This Latin show "Capture the Passion" not only introduces this dynamic and talented young couple to the Bay Area, it is also a fundraising event to cover the costs of relocating Nuno to the States.
