w/ Michelle Bird
Most new dancers struggle to maintain balance & posture while learning new patterns. This class is designed to help you find your balance and keep it in basic dance elements & patterns.
w/ Carolyn Barreno
Start with the basic rhythm & then learn the basic footwork and a simple turn. If you're up for it, stay for the 4pm Intermediate Class at no extra charge.
Classes are at 136 Missouri St @ 17th St.
We do limit the class sizes. This is so that you get the most out of the class and have plenty of interaction with the instructor. Register in advance to ensure your spot.
Bring a dance partner or meet one here. Generally we have an equal or close to equal number of leaders and followers and everyone is pretty darn friendly. If you bring a partner, you can either stay with your partner or rotate to dance with others.
What To Wear: Dress such that you're comfortable and can easily move. For shoes, please do not wear shoes that would mark the floor. Also avoid gym shoes as they generally have too much traction. You want to wear shoes with smooth soles. For the beginning classes, it's okay to just dance in socks. You can ask the instructor on recommendations on where to purchase dance shoes.
